After graduating from Wayne State University with a BA, Helen worked for Consumers Energy for 13 years, coordinating the Gas Transportation Program when de-regulation in Michigan began in 1986.  She joined Gary Dillon at EMC in 1989 as Nomination Administrator and Gas Buyer.

In 2003, she joined Dillon Energy Services as the Director of Operations.
